My Client a leader in its field is seeking an experienced transport manager to join the management team working with a busy and pressurised environment.

Dutiers will include:-

1.To ensure compliance with Operators Licence regulations, including required documentation.

2.To ensure compliance with Tachograph regulations and maintenance of relevant records.

3.To ensure compliance with the RTWD and maintenance of relevant records

4.To be responsible for the administration of the Company’s vehicle fleet, including maintenance of accurate records.

5.To supervise & deploy efficiently the mechanical staff to ensure that the demands of the company’s workload are at all times met.

6. Liaise with lease company in the setting-up of service schedules for all vehicles in the fleet (Uxbridge & Manchester depots) in accordance with defined inspection periods.

7. Arranging of DOE and MOT tests as required for all regions in conjunction with lease company.

8.To administer Congestion Charges and Parking tickets and ensuring that these are recharged where applicable.

9.To ensure Road Fund Licences are received from lease company and displayed on Company vehicles.

10.To be responsible for the sale of Company vehicles when necessary & the purchase of new or second-hand vehicles as instructed and in accordance with Company policy.

11.To organise service of vehicles in Manchester and on location in conjunction with lease company.

12.To conduct 3 monthly driving licence checks on all staff & technicians as per current guidelines.

13.To oversee all matters relating to vehicle insurance.

14.To arrange cover for vehicle breakdowns for company owned vehicles & to liaise with the lease company for breakdowns on all other vehicles.

15.To arrange any spot-hire of vehicles as per the agreement with lease company & to ensure their earliest possible return.

16.To advise Company management of new legislation or changes to current legislation relating to the transport sector.

17.Administration of fuel cards and preparation of bi-weekly report.

18.To arrange spare parts as necessary & raise purchase orders.

19.To be responsible for the purchase of new or second-hand vehicles as instructed and in accordance with Company policy.

20.Ordering of fuel for all depots.

21.Arranging ferry bookings as required.

22.Take responsibility for all Health & Safety matters within the company.

23.To take reasonable care whilst at work for the health and safety of both yourself and others who may be affected by you and to comply with the Health & Safety Rules and Procedures relating to your job which are to be found in the Company Safety Manual.

24.To carry out any related ad hoc duties as may from time to time be identified by the Managing Director.

Salary is between £30 000 and £35 000 dependant upon experience.
