A contract opportunity for an Electrical Engineer

Main objective:

The Electrical engineer will successfully deliver vehicle projects to market by the validation of electrical and electronic systems of our clients vehicles during development to their standards. Formal reporting of results. Countermeasure determination with design groups. Support to the production plant when necessary.



Main Responsibilities:

Support to the production plant when necessary. Field investigation. Some management of suppliers.



The Electrical Engineer will have responsibility for dissemination of information for a specific vehicle project, Test plan coordination and reporting of results on behalf of the section for the formal project milestone meetings.



Essential Skills:

Have 5 years relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic development, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience, e.g. in aerospace.

Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.

Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, and similar test equipment.

Be able to operate canalyser and interpret the results.

Have good communication skills.



Additionally the following may be an advantage;

Competent with PC applications.

Self motivating and self managing.

Pro-active.

Positive.

Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.

Understanding / experience of:

Anti-theft approval to 95 56 EC and Thatcham.

EMC, 2006 28 EC

Radio, reception, audio and telephone.

Diagnostics.

Labview.

Programming languages.

PCB design and electronic assembly.



Travel required

Able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks

On rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks.
